The Apocalypse

Synopsis

 

Annotation: The main character solves his internal conflict. He accepts his dream and makes his main prediction.

 

            It has been seven months since the crash of the passenger train "Comet". All this time Peter Jackson is haunted by the same nightmare. He finds himself in a labyrinth from which he cannot find a way out.

            At the next treatment interview, Peter Jackson confesses that he is not going to accept his dream, because it will change nothing, it will not bring back to life the dead passengers. The only thing he wants is to go back to normal way life.

            After this confession, Peter begins to see other dreams. Every night he sees one ruined city. He understands that these nightmares predict the future doomsday. Jackson realizes that he can prevent the oncoming disaster.

            Peter Jackson's state of health is getting worse, he faints at the store. In the next vision the main character learns, that his world is being destroyed, and that he may die soon. The only way to survive is to accept a dream. Peter Jackson flatly refuses the offer.

            Previously feuding parts of the personality combine their efforts. They change their strategy. Peter Jackson sees a plane crash, which will happen within few days. Peter walks into a call-box with the intention to inform the police about the upcoming crash, but at the last moment he changes his mind. From the news Peter learns about the crash of Boeing-737. Peter Jackson discusses the incident with his psychoanalyst.

            Peter Jackson receives the next prediction. There must be a terrorist attack in the shopping mall “Aquatorium”. On overcoming his hesitation, Peter anonymously reports about the imminent crime, he gives the police some tips to find the terrorist group.

            Peter Jackson makes a couple of other predictions, all of them were borne out. They start gossiping about the main character in the city, the press gives him the nickname of the Seer.

            In the next vision Peter Jackson finds himself in a burning provincial town. He meets his demonic self. This part of the person is not willing Peter to make his predictions, to meddle with the natural course of events.

            Peter Jackson's state of health continues to get worse. He faints again. In the vision he learns about his mission, he has to make a decision. Peter Jackson refuses, he is on the verge of dying.

Peter Jackson has three days to think of this. Peter doubts. Seeing the suffering of his son, he accepts the offer. He is gaining the strength again.

            Parts of his personality that have concluded a truce, arrange a metting with a demonic entity – an aggressive part of Peter`s personality. Jackson carries the consent of this self to the implementation of the dream. Later, Peter Jackson agrees with the other part of his personality. Thus, he obtains the consent of all interested parts to the realization of the dream.

            Peter Jackson continues to make his predictions. His popularity is growing. Peter gets on with a journalist woman from the central TV channel. He asks the journalist to arrange a press conference. In return, Peter promises to give an exclusive interview.

            Before the press conference, Peter confesses to his son that he is a Seer. At the live press conference Peter Jackson gives his main prediction. The main character says that he sees a possible doomsday in future. He tells how to prevent the apocalypse, defines the point of no return for humankind.
